Augmented Sculpture by Gross8 and Lichtfront

Augmented Sculpture by GROSSE8 & LICHTFRONT / Passagen 2010 from Lichtfront on Vimeo.

While the term "augmented reality" is still a bit of a mystery to me. I must admit that the latest project from Gross8 and Lichtfront is nothing short of breathtaking on all fronts. The 2.5m sculpture takes art to another level with angular facades that act as 360-degree canvases of visual candy, all choreographed to a soundtrack developed by Jon Hopkins. Personally, I'm intrigued by Lichtfront's thought-provoking description: "The sculpture becomes a mirror of changing realities. As a result, a kind of real virtuality arises to confront virtual reality."
