Focus: Broomberg & Chanarin

You know, there are some days when you just feel like exploring the surrealims of the everyday. Cue Adam Broomberg and Oliver Chanarin, two photographers that know just how far to take an image into that treacherous realm of social-yet-playful context. And their latest show, People in Trouble Laughing Pushed to the Ground, is nothing short of fantastic. A ghostly erasure here. The cut of a marker pen strike there. A dash of self-reflexology we can all use on the studio walls of our brains. "Hundred of balloons rising into the sky… a young boy staring, close-up, at a glass that has caught the light on a sunny day… a column of flame, bursting, volcano-like, through a broken window of a burning car…" Couldn't have said it better myself. See full collection at Paradise Row.
